The Undergraduate Faculty Advising Committee is committed to collaborating with Student Affairs to provide essential resources and organize quarterly panel discussions on relevant topics.

Focused on supporting all students, particularly those from underrepresented groups, we promote participation in research and skill-building opportunities while monitoring their impact on success. We prioritize student well-being and actively gather feedback to enhance the overall student experience.

Please review the Physics-Advising Syllabus to understand the scope of advising typically provided by Physics faculty versus advising offered by Physics staff. The page you’re currently viewing provides guidance on seeking advising from Physics faculty. Seeking Faculty Advising

Students are welcome to reach out to faculty advisors with any questions or to request a 1-on-1 meeting. Please be as specific as possible in your email, so we can best figure out how to assist you

    • For general inquiries about research directions among faculty, we would suggest the Physics 191 course and our advising events scheduled throughout the year. Note that our faculty advisors do not necessarily have open lab positions. See the Joining a Physics Faculty Lab or Group spreadsheet for more information.
    • For advising on the specifics of major requirements, completing your degree, and administrative matters, we would direct you to Staff Advising.
    • For advice on courses applicable to particular subfields, see the Course Recommendations by Faculty spreadsheet.

Upcoming Events Hosted By Faculty Advising Committee
